Stephen Reid, the villain from Coronation Street, returned to the cobbles in June of last year and has continued to hide his murderous tendencies from Weatherfield’s citizens.
After spending 15 years away, Canadian businessman Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) decided to return to the cobbles, where he set his sights on robbing mother Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) of her money.
When his cunning ways were threatened with being discovered, however, things quickly went south, and he ended up taking many lives to keep his secrets hidden.
It has been a year since he returned to Weatherfield, so Express.co.uk has looked back at the people he has murdered, the lies he has told, and the ongoing plans.
Joe Frost’s character Leo Thompkins made the decision to confront Stephen after learning that he was attempting to defraud Audrey in order to repay his ex-wife Gabrielle (Helene Maksoud).
The two men got into a fight on the top floor of the factory outside, threatening to tell everyone the truth, including the police.

Stephen pushed Leo’s head onto a meal barrier while attacking him in a fit of rage, sending him over the edge to his death.
In an effort to hide his identity, the murderer pretended to be Leo while using his phone to message people, giving the impression that he was still alive and well.
Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) was devastated that her boyfriend had abandoned her because the murderer made it appear as though Leo made the decision to immigrate to Canada by himself.
Stephen appeared to be in the clear after destroying his belongings to try to hide his tracks until Leo’s father Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) walked onto the cobblestones in search of his son.
Teddy made it his mission to try and find out where his son was after learning that he had never made it to Canada.

The killer began to grow suspicious of Stephen and worried that his secret would be discovered.
Teddy did, however, have a lucky escape when he was in a car accident because he admitted to forgetting everything.
This was short-lived, though, as Teddy went to Underworld to confront Stephen because he was convinced he was responsible for Leo’s disappearance.
Teddy rebuffed Stephen’s claims that he knew nothing and threatened to call the police in response to his demands for answers.
In a fit of rage, Stephen grabbed the heaviest object he could find and fatally punched him in the head with a hole punch.

ITV viewers watched in horror as he dumped Teddy into a lake while putting his body in Audrey’s car roof box, getting away with murder twice.
Stephen continued his new plan to try and take over the factory and oust Carla Connor (Alison King) once Leo and Teddy were out of the way.
He had been sneakily adding LSD to her tea to make her seem incapable; businessman Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo) soon learned about this.
In an effort to conceal his spiking, Rufus began to blackmail Stephen, who complied with his demands for weeks until he reached his breaking point.
In a flashback, Stephen brought some LSD to Rufus’ house to spike him while they were talking.
When Rufus began to feel the effects of the drugs, Stephen seized the chance to kill him by holding his head under the water.
Stephen has already killed three people in his year of terror, and he has his sights set on Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox), his fiancée.
After learning that his future bride had a heart condition that killed her mother, Stephen decided to get life insurance for her because he knew she had a lot of money.
Elaine substituted caffeine pills for her blood pressure medication and passed out in recent scenes, leading Stephen to believe she had died.
When she eventually recovered, it became evident that his strategy had failed as her son Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) began to exhibit signs of
Could Elaine become the fourth victim in Stephen Reid’s killer year?
