EXCLUSIVE: Mary Goskirk of Emmerdale has been cozying up to newcomer Faye on the ITV soap, but their relationship is doomed to fail.
After a string of failed relationships, Mary Goskirk (played by Louise Jameson) believed her luck had changed when she met Faye (Jane Gurnett) on Emmerdale.
On the ITV soap, the two have recently been getting to know one another. Earlier this month, they shared a passionate kiss.
Fans of Emmerdale will recall that Mary came out as a lesbian last June after telling Kim Tate (Claire King), an unlikely friend.
However, when Faye breaks some news in upcoming scenes, ITV soap opera spoilers indicate Mary is left to make a significant choice.

Faye tells Mary in yet-to-air scenes that she must go back to Ecuador to assist in running a women’s refuge.
Mary, who is devastated, is left in a state of disarray as she tries to convince her love interest to stay in Emmerdale, but Faye insists she must go and begs Mary to go with her.
Later, after discussing the situation with her daughter Rhona Goskirk (Zoey Henry), Mary makes the decision to decline the offer.
Mary eventually confides in Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) about why she isn’t traveling with Faye.

During her conversation with Suzy, she surprises herself by stating that Rhona is the reason she is staying in Yorkshire.
Suzy admits to Mary that although she knows Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) is returning, she regrets not following her to Canada.
Mary now has some food for thought, but will she decide to change her mind and travel to Ecuador?
Later, Faye reveals that the women’s refuge she belongs to had experienced a devastating fire.
After learning about the horrific incident, Mary is compelled to help and suggests holding a fundraiser.
However, Jane Hudson, the executive producer of Emmerdale, has confirmed that Faye is about to break Mary’s heart.

We have a lovely love story playing on-screen with Mary, she said to Express.co.uk. Mary’s first relationship since coming out, and we see her falling in love with Faye.
“Unfortunately, there won’t be a happy ending because she has been so exposed and vulnerable. Mary will experience heartbreak.
“I believe that what’s really pertinent to this story is how simple it is to fall for a con, how simple it is to be duped, and how simple it is to let love cloud your judgment.
“I believe that regardless of age, we are all susceptible to being duped, taken advantage of, or caught in catfishing.”
She concluded: “There’s a lovely humour but then there’s such sadness. I think you’re all going to enjoy that story.”
