This year’s British Soap Awards, which took place on Saturday but were televised on ITV on Tuesday night, were a triumphant evening for Coronation Street.
Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy Midgeley in the ITV drama, was one Weatherfield soap opera star to have a successful evening.
She was honoured for her portrayal of Daisy in the harrowing acid assault plot line with the awards for Best Dramatic Performance, Best Single Episode, and Scene of the Year.
Viewers of the British Soap Awards took to Twitter as the event was airing to express their outrage about Coronation Street’s victories.
These soap awards are rigged, according to @Flowerbomb212. This pink Corrie character is acting in a way that completely undermines any severity of any plots she may have been in.

Rob concurred, saying, “Watching the #SoapAwards and some of this is definitely rigged by ITV!”
Unpopular opinion, but the soap awards should go to a neutral channel so that they can’t be rigged, remarked Summer.
The fact that they even staged a bogus fashion award for Corrie, Toby continued. The most deserved candidate was Kat Slater, and that honour isn’t even real.

Fans of Coronation Street will remember Justin Rutherford’s (Andrew Still) attempt to pour acid over Daisy, the person he was pursuing.
Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) was covered in acid as he intervened to protect Daisy from Ryan’s aim and was taken to the hospital.
Charlotte, 28, attended the British Soap Awards with a Barbie pink maxi dress with a side split and a bandeau top.
She accessorised her couture outfit with a shimmering gold clutch bag and pink strapped heels.
