Fans of Coronation Street are a little perplexed after actress Amy Robbins appeared to confirm her departure from the ITV soap already.
Amy’s first scenes as Christina Boyd on the cobblestones were broadcast last month, and they showed her character entering the pub after learning that her daughter Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) had gotten engaged.
It was clear that over the years, Christina and Daisy’s relationship had deteriorated. The well-known character tried her hardest to avoid her mother because she wasn’t happy that she was visiting.
In the episode that aired on February 1, Christina decided to leave Weatherfield in order to keep the peace after arguing with Daisy’s stepmother Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews).
Following an Amy social media post, Coronation Street viewers recently questioned whether Christina would indeed return to the cobbles.
She wrote: “And so.. Christina bids a fond farewell to her beloved long suffering Daisy and her darling soon to be soon in law Daniel” alongside a photo of herself, Rob Mallard (Daniel Osbourne), and Charlotte behind the bar in the Rovers. @sallyannmathews @rob.mallard @charliejordanxo I’ll miss you a lot. I want to thank everyone at @coronationstreet for making me feel so welcome. As far as dream jobs go, this one was difficult to beat.
Many of her fans were shocked by this because Christina only made an appearance in a few episodes.
Is that it? Oh no. According to one account, there was a lot more they could have done with the character.
What a great character, hope you’re back soon, said another.
Christina will continue to appear on television for a while because the soap opera films weeks in advance; this picture is probably connected to her exit scenes later this year.
Daisy has said goodbye to Christina for the time being, but she is still attempting to get stalker Justin (Andrew Still) to stop following her. However, given Charlotte Jordan’s confirmation that things are about to get worse, it appears Daisy’s life may be in danger for a while.
She’s just constantly alert, the actress said. “This guy gets a job on her street so he can watch her even more closely.” She constantly checks behind her because she never knows where he might show up.
He is utterly delusional and thinks Daniel is some sort of stumbling block in their relationship.
She doesn’t know how dangerous that delusion will make him in the long run, how far it will take hold of him, or what will finally push him over the edge.
Simply put, she is in a very scary situation.
