Since his father’s illness and subsequent death, Coronation Street legend Kevin Webster has been absent from Weatherfield.
On Wednesday night, Kevin Webster from Coronation Street (played by Michael Le Vell) went back to Weatherfield and ran into his old friend Tyrone Dobbs (played by Alan Halsall).
In recent scenes, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) noticed their car had arrived as she left the house and informed Tyrone, “Oh Kevin’s back! Kevin, I’m sorry to hear about your father.
Kevin said, “Thanks, but these things happen don’t they, none of us get out of this alive,” as he stepped out and retrieved his bags from the boot.
“Hiya mate, how are you doing?” Tyrone enquired, acting like the worried friend. prior to saying, “Yeah… yeah you know. You kept the garage running, right?
Tyrone joked, “Well, we tried running it into the ground,” as Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) teased, “Well, but we thought we’d be stepping on your toes.”
Abi inquired, “I thought you sorted Tom Jones out this morning?” after spotting a man waiting to be seen with a red sports car.
Kevin enquired after Tyrone had said he did, “Think he can hear a squeaking sound? It is not uncommon.
Tyrone continued, “Let’s see if we can get him to the green green grass of old,” after Abi interrupted the joke and said, “Oh no, not this again.”
Kevin exclaimed: “It’s like I have never been away!” while laughing at Tyrone and Abi’s arguments.
Tyrone turned as he approached the garage and enquired, “Fancy a pint later?” Yes, I’ll drop by after tea; I’ve got some good beers to try, Kevin said, concurring.
ITV soap opera viewers took to Twitter to express their happiness at seeing Kevin return to Weatherfield.
It was said by @AndySP01: “Thank God Kev’s back. The sole middle-aged man living on Coronation Street who isn’t a murderer, according to #Corrie.
“Oh, I love that Kevin is at last back in Weathers,” said Pauline Jannes. He’s been away for far too long.
I’ve missed the Kevin/Abi/Tyrone dynamic, said @CoolMumTina. They make such a cute couple.
