Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ Max Turner’s ‘breakdown’ as they demand intervention

-

After Wednesday night’s episode, Coronation Street viewers expressed their concern for troubled teen Max Turner. As his fellow inmates at the STC become aware of his bond with Daniel Osbourne, many people worry that he could be in danger.

Fans of Coronation Street will recall a few months ago when Max Turner (played by Paddy Bever) was detained for joining Griff’s (Michael Condron) extremist gang.

The teen was charged and given a six-month sentence at the Secure Training Center, where his old foe Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) has recently begun working.

The teen decided to reveal everything in a covert video message after recently appearing to struggle to fit in with the other boys.

He was able to take Daniel’s phone, and after making a video of his feelings, he placed it back on his desk.

Daniel watched the heartbreaking video with the intention of helping Max, but when he tried to talk to him about it in private during class, the teen refused.

Max made the decision to disrupt class in order to get attention after being questioned by a fellow student named Gav about his close relationship with the teacher.

Fans are concerned about Max’s future because Daniel is keeping the STC officials in the dark about how bad his mental health has gotten.

Daniel could have told the counselor that he believes Max is vulnerable based on the way he has been speaking and acting, and that they should keep a close eye on him, according to Pam_debeauvoir. Before it’s too late, apply a thick layer. He is having trouble and needs assistance.

“By Daniel withholding serious information on Max’s mental health- to cover his ass about having his phone in prison, he is putting Max at risk and preventing him from getting appropriate support & intervention from professionals,” TellyVsPodcasts continued.

“Are Daniel and David genuinely concerned that Max might not be enjoying prison?” tweeted ConversationStr.

Is Mad Max II going to crash?, added Penniless_poet.

“That scene about Daniel wanting to get max mental health help and him being refused is proof people are struggling on their own with MH #Corrie,” Mikepriestley13 wrote in a comment.

According to RyanTheSoapking, Max is in denial with Daniel because he doesn’t want to appear weak in front of his prison mates.

In reference to the plot, actor Rob Mallard stated to Metro that Daniel discovering Max’s video on the phone has altered how he perceives the adolescent.

Daniel notices that this person, who was so determined to destroy him, is suddenly in such a weak and vulnerable position, and it’s quietly tragic, the man said.

Daniel is aware that he needs to find a way to reach Max since he won’t talk to him in class. Daniel follows Max’s lead and does the same thing after he creates the first video.
