A Coronation Street actor has hinted that their character might wind up in jail as part of the ITV soap opera’s major exit plot.
Ellie Leach’s character Faye Windass, who made her debut on Coronation Street 12 years ago, has recently been revealed to be leaving the serial drama.
Actress Ellie has now suggested that after the police learn the truth about Ted Spear’s (Duggie Brown) death, her character might wind up in jail.
Fans of Coronation Street will remember that Faye and Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) killed him in a hit-and-run.
Emma and Ted’s grandson were able to flee to Australia, but Faye stayed behind in Weatherfield out of fear that her copper partner Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) might inform the authorities of what had happened.
Will her secret become public as part of the ITV soap opera’s dramatic plot involving Faye’s departure?
Future scenes show Craig still struggling and debating whether to tell the police what Faye did.
She will have to decide between moving in with Craig and visiting her ex-boyfriend Jackson Hodge (Joseph William Evans) and their daughter Miley (Frankie-Jae Simmonds) in Slough.
Will Craig report Faye’s crime to the police as part of a revenge plan if she chooses Jackson?
Ellie, the Faye actress, made an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of This Morning to discuss the plot with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
Ellie said, “I think that’s always been the case for Faye and I think she always puts everybody else before herself. It is really hard for her because she wants to do the right thing by everybody. It’s time for her to prioritize her emotions right now.
We’re trying to figure out what will happen here, Holly continued. She might simply vanish, but there’s also the matter of the secret.
And there’s another route she might take in that video where Craig says, “Well, I just feel like going down and telling the police.”
The Mirror quoted Ellie as saying of her departure: “To be honest, I’ve been working since I was nine years old so I’m going to go on vacation for a little while.
“I think I’m going to take a short vacation and do some light traveling.”
I don’t know,” Faye replied when asked if she would go back to the cobbles. People will need to keep an eye on things.
