Briony Aston, the wife of Coronation Street actor Sam Aston, has spoken out about having two miscarriages in four months.
The aspiring midwife, who wed the Chesney actor in 2019, opened up about her heartache in an emotional Instagram post on Saturday in an effort to “break taboos.”
‘I’m miscarrying again, the second time in four months,’ the 27-year-old wrote.Although it’s tragic and unfair, I don’t want sympathy; instead, I want other people to know that they are not alone.
I wanted to post this today because, as I said, “having people you can talk to and receiving comfort from those who have been through something similar makes a world of difference.”
We informed our close friends and family about both pregnancies because I knew that if it wasn’t meant to be, I would need their support. But if I hadn’t heard from other women about the babies they lost and their stories, I wouldn’t have been so open.
This is a difficult thing to share, but in the interest of breaking the taboo, I’m miscarrying again, the second time in four months…it’s heartbreaking and it’s unfair, BUT I’m not seeking sympathy, I feel well supported and want others to feel supported too❤️
And that’s why I wanted to post this today, because having people you can talk to and receiving comfort from those who have been through something similar makes the world of difference.
We’d told close friends and family about both pregnancies, because I knew that, for me, I would want support from those people if it wasn’t meant to last. But I wouldn’t have been so open had I not heard from other women about the babies they lost and their stories.
So thank you to all the women before me who have shared their stories and talked about their babies, it makes processing this a lot easier, and I don’t feel alone at all.

Briony, who is also a doula, expressed her gratitude to other women for sharing their miscarriage stories because it helped them feel “less alone.”
“In fact, I don’t feel alone at all; I feel held and heard,” she continued. “I hope that by continuing these difficult conversations about miscarriage and pregnancy loss, we open the door for others who will tragically experience loss too.”
Briony received an outpouring of love and support from her fans and family members. One fan wrote: “You are such an inspiration my girl, always thinking of others. I love you a lot.
Another person said, “Thinking of you, such a brave thing to share, I suffered mostly in silence which was awful too, I wish I had spoken out xx.”
She was born in May of last year, and her older brother Sonny, who is two, live with Sam and Briony.
