Coronation Street’s Sam Blakeman star pens sweet tribute to Emmerdale star dad

-

In 2020, Jude Riordan made his debut as Sam Blakeman on Coronation Street. His director father is currently a director on the ITV soap Emmerdale.

Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman on the ITV soap Coronation Street, has sent his real-life father, a Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actor, a brief but heartfelt letter.

Jude posted a photo of himself and his father to Instagram in honor of Father’s Day.

With over 80,000 followers on his official Instagram, the 12-year-old Sam actor used the platform to share a heartfelt message for his father. The young actor manages his own social media accounts with the help of his mother.

Jude and his father Paul can be seen in two old photos on the Instagram post.

The first image depicts Jude as a young child being held by his father, while the second image features Zach, Jude’s older brother, and their father all dressed in suits and ties.

Happy Father’s Day to everyone, but especially to the best of the best @paulrio27, according to the caption.

Supportive messages from the actor from Coronation Street were quickly shared by his followers.

Have a wonderful day with your dad, Jude, one person wrote. I hope you’ve been treating him well.

Another person commented, “Beautiful photos. I wish your father a wonderful day.

A third person added, “Great pictures… Enjoy a wonderful day with your father.

Jude’s character, who appears in the ITV soap as the son of Nick Tilsley (played by Ben Price), first appeared on the cobbles when he was nine years old.

Since he had previously broken up with Sam’s mother, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), Nick was unaware that he even had a son at the time.

Natasha nonetheless permitted him to be a part of Jude’s life, and ever since then, his character has experienced a lot.

From dealing with his mother’s tragic death after she was shot by gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) and the grief that ensued, to a brief romance with Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone’s (Alan Halsall) and Hope Dobbs’ (Isabella Flanagan) daughter, Hope Dobbs.

Because of these plotlines, he was able to win the Best Newcomer National Television Award in 2021, becoming the youngest actor ever to do so in the history of the award ceremony, as well as the same-category Inside Soap Award that year.

Contrarily, before moving on to Emmerdale, Paul previously directed episodes of Coronation Street, Hollyoaks on Channel 4, and Casualty on the BBC.
