Coronation Street’s Stu Carpenter fumes as Roy Cropper grows closer to Yasmeen

-

After reigniting their friendship, Roy Cropper and Yasmeen Nazir have been getting closer lately.

As Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) fumes over his relationship with Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King), Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) of Coronation Street is poised to stir up some controversy in Weatherfield.

The trio decides to spend some quality time together at the Rovers pub quiz with Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), according to official ITV soap opera spoilers.

But it’s obvious how close Yasmeen and Roy have grown, leaving Stu to feel excluded.

He makes the decision to leave the pub in a sour mood because he doesn’t want to feel like a burden, allowing the two to finish the quiz without him.

Since Yasmeen visited Roy in the hospital following his stent surgery, the two have developed a new friendship.

Yasmeen had discovered his late wife’s red coat, which he had believed to be permanently lost after it had been unintentionally donated to a charity.

Roy had found solace in the coat ever since Hayley’s (Julie Hesmondhalgh) passing in 2014, so when it was inadvertently donated, he was devastated.

He and Yasmeen have been spending more time together lately, including a book reading at the library, and he is overjoyed that it is back in his possession.

However, Coronation Street viewers saw Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), who was overcome with jealousy, so it’s not just Stu who felt left out by their relationship.

Since Roy’s health scare a few weeks ago, Evelyn’s feelings for him appear to have grown more intense.

Roy made the decision to write letters to the people who meant the most to him before entering the theater in case he didn’t make it.

While Evelyn was moved by what he had written, she let her curiosity get the better of her.

She learned Yasmeen had found the coat as she was making her way to the hospital to express her own emotions.

As Evelyn left Weatherfield at the end of June, it appears that any potential romance between the two longtime friends will have to wait.

As Evelyn took her away to detox, Cassie (her estranged daughter, played by Claire Sweeney), came looking for assistance to stop using drugs.

ITV will continue to air Coronation Street at 8 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
