EastEnders favourite leaves long-running ITV drama to reprise BBC soap role

-

Last month, Thomas Law surprised viewers by reprising his role as Peter Beale in EastEnders alongside Jacqueline Jossa’s Lauren Branning.
In order to devote himself entirely to EastEnders, Thomas Law has chosen to leave his role as Eddie Martin in the ITV series The Bay.

The 30-year-old has appeared in the crime drama for the past three seasons as cop Eddie Martin, but he won’t be appearing in the upcoming one.

Thomas won’t be showing up in the upcoming season of The Bay, a show spokesperson confirmed to Daily Star.

How Thomas’ decision to leave has affected the cast and crew has been made known by an insider.

Everyone at The Bay is saddened by Tom’s departure, they claimed. With both the audience and his co-stars, he enjoyed great popularity.

ITV has been contacted by Express.co.uk for comment.

Thomas’ departure from The Bay follows his unexpected return to EastEnders, where viewers last saw him as Peter Beale in 2010.

In the BBC soap, where they had fled the UK to live in France, his parents Ian (played by Adam Woodyatt) and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) were also seen by viewers.

Cindy and her family were revealed to have been living under witness protection during the episode as a result of Cindy tipping off someone named Jackie Ford while she was incarcerated.

She is, however, the ex-wife of the new Queen Vic proprietor George Knight (Colin Salmon), as well as his two children Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford), according to a shocking revelation.

Thomas said of playing the same part again: “Over the years, I had hoped for a return to the Square, though I never thought it would happen.

So it’s a true pleasure to return to Walford as Peter Beale.

Seeing both old and new faces has been wonderful, and now that Cindy has returned, it will be exciting to explore the character once more.

It didn’t take long for viewers to express their joy at seeing the actor back on their screens after his absence, and many of them flocked to Twitter as soon as he did.

The comment from @flawedimperf was, “Honestly, #Eastenders pulling this off has got to be the greatest thing ever like OG PETER and everything.”

“Omg, The Best Surprise, I’ve Got My Original Peter Back, Can We Have Him Back In The Square Now Guys?” @yasmin_ali10 further commented. Thomas Law, sr.

Commented @alanactor123: “Also please tell me Lauren and Peter are back permanently!!!!! #EastEnders”
