Although Lola Pearce’s heartbreaking passing may have only recently left EastEnders viewers feeling better, the residents of Walford have not yet said their final farewells.
Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) former boss, plans a special tribute to her in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
On Lola’s 27th birthday, which would have been today according to the BBC’s official spoilers, her loved ones assemble at the salon.
A plaque honoring their lost friend Lola is unveiled on Lola’s chair by a tearful Denise.
The kind act is probably going to move Lola’s family deeply.
Fans will recall that Lola learned last year that she had a brain tumor.
She underwent months of treatment in an effort to extend her life, but sadly the cancer spread and was uncontrollable.
Despite the beautician’s best efforts to make all the necessary preparations, Lola’s family gathered at her home at the end of May as she took her final breath. Since then, things have been a little disorganized.
Despite clearly having a difficult time, her young daughter Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) was able to pay a special tribute to her mother at her funeral.
After the funeral, Lola’s husband Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) showed signs of breakdown as he struggled to picture life without her.
Though the others are unaware of it, Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) was able to intervene and talk sense into him. Ben, however, is also going through a difficult situation.
Just before Lola died, Ben began exhibiting eating disorder symptoms.
At the moment, no one who is close to him is aware that he has been observed gorging on food and rushing to make himself sick.
Will he soon be able to discuss the serious health issue with someone?
Maybe seeing a memorial for Lola will make him talk to her again like he used to.
But since it’s Lola’s birthday, it’s likely that Jay will be having trouble, so it’s possible that Ben will be preoccupied making sure the distraught husband is coping.
