EastEnders’ Lola in tears over touching gesture amid Billy arrest

-

As she reaches her dying days, Albert Square made a meaningful gesture to Lola Pearce-Brown.

On Monday, May 29, 2023, Lola Pearce-Brown broke down in tears after seeing a kind act from the neighbourhood in EastEnders.

The hairdresser, who has a terminal brain tumour, is in the challenging latter stages of her illness and will pass away in an episode this week.

In the episode from Monday, Lola (Danielle Harold) was visited by Denise Fox (Diane Parish), her boss, and pals Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Kim Fox.

Lola was unable to move or speak, but she was able to express her happiness at the Fox sisters’ presence, and her husband Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) made it plain how much he valued their visit.

But Kim had another surprise in store for Lola. With Jay’s assistance, she was wheeled to her living room window where she saw some of her friends and neighbours show a message spelling out “Hello Lola” to her.

Knowing it might be the final time she would see some of them, Lola was driven to tears when people like Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) stood among them all smiling.

Unsettling moments showed Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), who was grieving, squabble with neighbourhood bad guy Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), and then break the window of his store, the Minute Mart.

Billy was the target of an angry call to the police from Nish and his son Vinny (Shiv Jalota). Despite protests from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), Nish insisted on Billy’s arrest. This sparked another outburst from Billy, who then unintentionally struck police officer Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), leading to Billy’s arrest.

Will Billy be able to reach Lola in the last few minutes?

The last scenes of Lola will be shown on May 31, 2023, on Wednesday.
