When Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) learned that daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) had found out about her internet cam work on EastEnders, she was shocked and faced shame as she broke the news to the rest of the Slater family.
Stacey turned to a website called Secret Cams to sell images of herself in order to get some additional money because she was struggling to put food on the table due to the rising cost of living.
Stacey agreed to a request to appear on video for £100 as things got worse, but this decision would ultimately be fatal.
When Stacey dropped Lily off at school and spoke with the principal, some of the pupils recognized her from her Secret Cams posts.
When Lily learned what her mother had been up to, she confronted her angrily in front of the other family members, revealing her camera work to the shocked Slaters.
In contrast to Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), who spoke up for Stacey, insisting that it was her body and her decision, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) found it difficult to comprehend what had happened.
As the Slater family broke apart, Stacey sat down with Martin Fowler (James Bye), who urged her to go to Lily’s school’s parents committee against Mr. Morden’s advise in order to defend her from the bullies.
Stacey encountered the critical parents of Lily’s friends at the meeting, but she quickly put them in their place by explaining that viewers had to pay to access her content, which meant that the women should be worrying about their husbands rather than their children who lack credit cards.

Martin advised Stacey to give Lily some space even though she was anxious to explain.
Later that evening, when Stacey went back, it seemed that there was still some uncertainty because Lily had come out with some pointed remarks.
She disclosed that Stacey had made things 10 times worse than they were before and that the entire school was now aware of her line of business.
Before slamming the door, Lily yelled that she wasn’t her mother and called her a “dirty slapper.”
Heartbroken Stacey left the house while contemplating what she might be able to do to make things better.
