EastEnders star Colin Salmon hints at feud just hours ahead of soap debut

-

Residents of Walford, where EastEnders is set, will welcome a newcomer tonight when George Knight and his daughters Gina and Anna appear on the square.
Colin Salmon, a Bond actor, will make his Albert Square debut tonight as George Knight, a former boxer and friend of Phil Mitchell (played by Steve McFadden).

After Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), the pub’s co-owner, recently learned that her mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) was a co-owner, George will help run the Queen Vic pub once he arrives on the square.

On Thursday morning, Colin spoke about his arrival on the Square with hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard of Good Morning Britain.

Speaking of one scene where he addressed the cast, he admitted that it was “a little intimidating.

“Because I’m giving a speech to the entire cast in one of my first scenes. In fact, I was a little anxious. However, they were sitting there supporting me and looking at me with open hearts.

Ben made a feud-related joke, saying, “Ah, they’re not sitting there saying, “Come on Hollywood,” are they?” Colin’s response was, “Well, maybe one or two of them. But we’ll give them some space.

He then giggled, implying that his comment about a feud was a joke, and they talked some more.

When asked why, Colin responded, “I can’t be far from home. It makes no sense. The cosmos has been incredibly kind.

George introduces himself as Elaine’s fiancé and explains that he, Anna (Molly Rainford), and Gina (Francesca Henry) have traveled from Marbella to assist Elaine in managing The Vic in scenes that air tonight.

When Linda discovers that Elaine’s original intent was to invite her new boyfriend and his family to take over The Vic, she is enraged.

Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) is quickly turned against George and realizes that he is not a man to be trifled with.

Back at The Vic, George reassures Linda that he doesn’t want to upset anyone and just wants to start over with Elaine and his daughters in Walford.

Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) sets his sights on the Knight girls and falls in love right away, so it’s not just George who makes a scene.

When Gina and Anna bring their pet chihuahua into the café, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), seeing how attached Bobby will grow to the girls, is less than enthusiastic and snaps at the women.

When the girls attempt to start a party at The Vic to celebrate their arrival, they continue to alienate people.

The patrons of the pub, who are still reeling from the passing of Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), don’t take this well. The Knight family’s new neighbors: can they be won over?
