The Heather Trott actress criticized the BBC soap opera, calling it “a little bit far-fetched.”
Cheryl Fergison, 57, portrayed Heather Trott on EastEnders from 2007 until 2012. Young Ben Mitchell murdered off her character (Joshua Pascoe). The actor has now said that the plots have turned “ridiculous” and “sensationalized.”
“Although I’m not the moral police, I do believe that EastEnders has gotten a little off track.
People, she believed, were desiring something more relatable and familiar than sensationalized content.
“I recall how big of a deal it was when Arthur Fowler stole the Christmas cash. Now, the only thing that matters is how many people can be shot or stabbed in the Square.
“I don’t believe soap operas should portray women in that way. I believe it normalizes violence among young people “the Daily Star, she said.


The actress did recognize the value of soap operas’ efforts “to inform people about serious themes.”
Despite the fact that, in her opinion, stories written to garner the biggest ratings frequently eclipsed it.
Giving with one hand and taking with the other was how she put it.
The BBC was contacted by Express.co.uk, but they declined to comment.
The actress has previously criticized the soap opera, calling it “out of touch” in April 2022.

She criticized the producers of the show at the time for murdering off her character when Ben struck her in the head with a picture frame.
She told The Mirror, “They need to bring it back down to earth a little.”

The actress stated that she was eager to see more “large people” in TV and that she also wanted to see a wider variety of body types in the serial.

She uttered: “When you see someone who resembles you, we can recognize them more easily.
“We also had sex! People want to believe that we just chuckle when we’re eating and being happy, but that’s not how it works.
“I was like, “Yeah!” when I saw Pierce Brosnan’s larger wife. Go forward!””
The actor entered the soap opera as a guest star and stayed for almost five years.
But because of how well-liked she was, Heather was given a position as the laundrette assistant, and she later joined the cast on a permanent basis.
“The decision has been reached to cut Heather’s character out of the program before fans tire of her,” a Mirror insider stated at the time. “Sheather’s character has been enormously popular over the years.”
She went on to appear in Hard Cell, Dodger, Big School, and The Spa after leaving the soap opera.
She has just made an appearance in the theatrical production of Cinderella at Stockport Plaza, and she is also well known for her theater appearances.
