Charity Dingle from Emmerdale has had bad luck with men, especially since she discovered that Mackenzie Boyd had cheated on her with Chloe Harris.
According to Jane Hudson, the head of the soap opera Emmerdale, Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) will be at the center of a significant storyline later this year.
It’s been pretty nonstop for the character on the ITV soap, from learning that her new husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) had an affair with Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) and allegedly fathered a child with her to her most recent liaison with the cunning Caleb (Will Ash).
And Charity still has a lot more in store, as Emmerdale producer Jane has hinted at a sizable storyline for later this year that will “explode” in October.
“I think with that story, it’s safe to say the viewers know we do Super Soap Week in October,” Jane said in a statement to Inside Soap. If there is ever a plot to blow up around that time, Charity is involved in a love triangle. I would therefore continue to monitor this space for a few more months.
But will Caleb now be a part of that love triangle after their most recent one-night stand? Or will Mack and Chloe’s conflict last for the foreseeable future?
Despite the fact that they have each moved on with Caleb or Chloe, it doesn’t seem like Charity or Mack are fully over the other. But Chloe’s demand that Mack pick between her and Charity in this week’s episode might force him to make a decision right away.
Lawrence Robb, who plays Mack, said to Metro.co.uk: “He has feelings for both Chloe and Charity, but I think Mack thinks Chloe’s demand is a little bit excessive. He had just recently wed Charity.
But since Chloe is the mother of his child and has had to deal with a lot of his trash over the past nine months, he will likely understand and sympathize with her situation, the man continued.
In the weeks leading up to October, viewers will need to tune in to learn who he chooses and what happens to Charity.
The fact that Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Liv (Isobel Steele) died as a result of a severe storm that hit the Dales during Super Soap Week last year, however, makes it inevitable that something equally dramatic and disruptive will occur this year.
