Jai Sharma, an Emmerdale resident, was shocked to learn that Rishi was not his biological father and that he had been adopted.
Following the adoption bombshell last week, Emmerdale fans seem to believe they have figured out who Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson’s) real parents are.
Jai and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) argued about the GP knowing Rishi’s (Bhasker Patel) secret during Friday’s episode.
Manpreet said, “I spoke to your father,” as Jai screamed, “Are you sure you’re allowed to tell me?”
The doctor continued, “You’re obviously referring to the fairly significant news you’ve received.
Jai responded, “I didn’t get it, I found it, and yes, I am. But more specifically, about the fact that you were aware of it but chose not to inform me.
Manpreet argued in his favor by saying, “Your father has told me everything he has told you. What more there is to say, I’m not sure.
Father, that’s the second time you’ve said that, Jai continued, growing angrier. Once you start lying, isn’t it difficult to stop?
Rishi is not Manpreet’s father, Jai interjected, “Except in the way that counts.”
Manpreet responded, “If you really believe that, then you never deserved to call him father in the first place.”
Fans have developed their own hypotheses about Jai’s real father in the wake of the news that he is adopted.
Many people seem to believe that Rishi is hiding something from his son, while one fan speculated that Jai’s father will be revealed as Nicky Milligan’s (Lewis Cope) potential love interest.
Appropriate_Cover_84, a user on Reddit, posed the following question: “Who do you think Jai’s real parents are?”
“I think it will be something like he’s a result of a sexual assault,” carole4903 retorted.
Jolly_Conflict continued, “That’s my guess too – primarily to knock Jai down a peg because of how angry he is about this. Whatever the news, Rishi will be in a state of shock and guilt over his anger, and the audience will feel for him.
“As an adoptee myself, it’s somewhat expected. I’m not shocked. Given that Jai didn’t choose any of this, I believe he has every right to be irate. ……But if this is the case, I can also see why Rishi remained silent because it would be awful to have to justify such a thing.
The commenter continued, “Perhaps Rishi will suddenly gain an estranged brother who slept with Rishi’s wife, hence him not being mentioned before?”
In response, Lancashire-Lass said, “Deffo this one if the spoilers of a long-lost cousin who is meant to be Nicky’s new love interest are true.”
Is Manpreet old enough for his real mother to be there? It seems like they could add a twist to that.
