Paige Sandhu, an Emmerdale legend, has landed a significant role following her shocking departure from the ITV soap opera.
Up until her life in prison was imposed last year on the ITV serial drama Emmerdale, Paige Sandhu played serial killer Meena Jutla.
Meena’s reign of terror lasted for more than a year; before being exposed, the devious nurse murdered Leanna Cavanagh (played by Mimi Slinger), Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale), and Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon).
Fans of Emmerdale are holding out hope that the murderer will someday escape prison and return to the Yorkshire Dales.
Paige recently disclosed that she will be playing a new role in the upcoming movie Lioness.
On Tuesday, the 26-year-old actress posted the thrilling update to her social media accounts.
Paige expressed her “humble and honor” at joining the cast on Instagram.
“I am so incredibly humbled and honored to be announcing #Lioness,” the celebrity exclaimed.
I am so blown away by this incredible story and can’t wait for the world to learn about Princess Sophia Duleep Singh. To say this part, this story, and this cast and crew are dreams come true would be doing it a disservice.
Granddaughter of the Lion of Punjab, eldest child of the ousted Maharajah Duleep Singh, and Queen Victoria’s goddaughter.
“Her life, the people she helped, and her work as a suffragette is truly amazing,” Paige continued. And I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with @kajribabbar and the incredible @aditiraohydari.
It was a “dream come true” for the actress to play the part in the film.
She also quoted the Suffragette movement’s organizer Emmeline Pankhurst, a political activist.
Many of Paige’s fans and her Emmerdale co-stars congratulated the actress on her most recent role.
In Emmerdale, Rebecca Sarker, who portrays Meena’s sister Manpreet Sharma, responded, “Yes, sis!”
“A world away from Meena on #emmerdale, she will be fabulous in this role,” said Pete Leo.
