Ben Freeman, who starred in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale as Scott Windsor, left the program 16 years ago, but he is reportedly getting a huge new role.
Over ten years after leaving the ITV soap, former Emmerdale star Ben Freeman reportedly landed a major new Hollywood role in a major US series.
Prior to leaving and securing roles in the West End, Ben played Scott Windsor in Emmerdale.
But according to rumors, Ben is poised to make a big splash in America after being cast as Corporal Woodbine in the hit Starz series Outlander.
The Sun quoted a source as saying: “Fans will be thrilled to see him in the show. It’s a great role. Ben has recently performed extensively on stage, so his fans will be thrilled to see him back on television.
Ben Freeman’s representatives have been contacted by maiil.online for comment.
The seventh season of the time-traveling television show began this month with its first half; the second half will air in 2024.
From 1998 to 2007, Ben played the hunky Scott, who was at the center of several significant plotlines.
One of the most shocking was his relationship with Kelly Windsor (Adele Silva), his stepsister, and the subsequent birth of Jean Tate (Megan Pearson) and Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell), his child.
Ben obtained roles in a number of West End productions after leaving the Dales, including Fiyero in Wicked, Prince in Romeo and Juliet, and Warner in the final performances of Legally Blonde: The Musical.
He made the decision to return to the world of soap operas in 2019, appearing as a guest on Doctors before moving on to portray the evil Caleb on EastEnders in 2021.
Emmerdale gave a hint earlier this year that Scott might move back to the community after his sister Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) decided to uproot her family and stay with him.
Emmerdale viewers anticipated Scott’s return to the village following Cathy’s temporary departure during this plot.
@kck1965 posed the following question on Twitter: “Is Scott the big character returning to Emmerdale? Oh, that would be fascinating.
“Cathy better bring Scott back,” said @sofaneilas, “otherwise she can stay away from #emmerdale.”
I wonder if Scott will be a big returnee this year, as stated by @News4Emmerdale. #Emmerdale.” (sic)
