Viewers of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale caught Leyla Harding’s “mistake” when she discovered her son Jacob Gallagher bleeding out after being stabbed.
Leyla Harding (played by Roxy Shahidi) was let out of her bedroom on Thursday’s dramatic episode of Emmerdale (Matthew Wolfenden). Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), her son, had kept her there overnight after he had reason to suspect she was abusing drugs once more. The young man was stabbed and left for dead after Jacob tricked her drug dealer into meeting him.
Leyla discovered a message on her phone when she was let out of her bedroom and immediately assumed the worst.
Jacob texted Leyla’s drug dealer the night before, pleading with him to meet her.
Jacob, who was holding a knife, welcomed him but cautioned the dealer to stay away from Leyla.
As soon as they started fighting, Jacob quickly regretted having the weapon with him because the dealer stabbed him in the chest with the knife.
The dealer left Jacob bleeding out in the dark and then drove off.
The following morning, Leyla and David discovered Jacob and realized he required immediate medical attention for his stab wound.
Before taking her son herself to the neighborhood hospital, she made an ambulance call.
Many viewers, however, were left perplexed as to why she did not wait for the ambulance or dial 911 to report the stabbing.
D Clarke tweeted: “Removing him from the crime scene was a mistake. And where are the coppers?”
Ray Ghost penned: “I’m not sure but wouldn’t that knife be in a police evidence bag? #emmerdale.”
Labona added: “Such a load of rubbish. When Leyla called the ambulance, she told them that her son had been stabbed. A police response would have been automatically triggered.”
Nicole said: “There’s an NHS crisis, don’t you know? Bl***y calling an ambulance to the incident and then driving the injured person in any way? Classic David. #emmerdale.”
Dion joked: “Hope they returned the ambulance’s call and requested that they not arrive. #Emmerdale.”
With a wound like that, Jeanie continued, “There’s no way he’d have survived left out in the cold overnight!”
When Jacob arrived at the hospital, he was taken into the operating room for surgery. David immediately accused Leyla of being to blame.
Leyla, however, instructed David to keep the knife she owned from the police.
The distraught Leyla continued, “There is nothing you can say that will make me feel worse than I already do.
Later, the police questioned Leyla and David in order to look into the attack.
David told the police he didn’t know who had stabbed Jacob, which was a lie.
Will the child survive in upcoming scenes?
