The renowned Samantha Giles, who portrays Bernice Blackstock in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, is collaborating with actors John Whaite and Billy Pearce on her most recent endeavor.
Later this year, Samantha, 51, will leave the Emmerdale set for the stage to star in Cinderella at Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre.
In the festive play, the actress will play Cinderella’s evil stepmother.
“I am beyond thrilled to be playing the wicked stepmother in Cinderella at the Bradford Alhambra Theatre,” the soap opera star exclaimed.
I’m eager to collaborate with Billy Pearce, the undisputed king of pantomime, and I’ve long wanted to work at the Alhambra because it’s such a stunning theater.
John Whaite, a finalist on Strictly Come Dancing, continued, “I am so thrilled to make my panto debut in the wonderful city of Bradford.
I’m looking forward to spending Christmas with Billy and Samantha and laughing nonstop because Yorkshire audiences are the best. See you at the ball, please.
Bernice, played by Samantha, has been at the center of several significant Emmerdale storylines this year.
She is currently having an affair with Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) and has been battling the menopause.
She and her business partner Bob established a B&B earlier this year, but she ended up making a move on him after a few too many glasses of wine.
Wendy Posner, played by Susan Cookson, is Bob’s wife, but he is blissfully unaware that she is starting a passionate relationship with the local doctor, Liam Cavanagh, played by Jonny McPherson.
ITV soap opera spoilers indicate Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), who the couple can’t seem to stop their affair, will reveal their affair in upcoming scenes.
Victoria begins to catch the couple flirting and can’t help but look into it more.
Bernice is upset when Bob confesses to Victoria that she still has a major crush on Liam after he stumbles when she confronts him.
When Victoria visits Liam, she discovers him in a mess and discovers Wendy’s handbag on his sofa. Their secret has been revealed, but will Victoria keep it to herself?
