In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Tuesday, May 9) Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) shocked Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) with a violent outburst.
Reuben, the infant son Mack had in a brief relationship with Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), is still fighting for his life in the hospital, and Mack is finding it difficult to control his emotions. Reuben has meningitis, but Chloe has cut Mack out of his life, leaving Charity perplexed about her husband’s whereabouts.

Reuben was having a brain scan tonight, and Charity took a call from his granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), before telling Mack the news. While finding it increasingly difficult to keep his emotions hidden from Charity, Mack persuaded her to stay away from the hospital.
Mack was alone in the Woolpack when Caleb Milligan (William Ash) barged in and tried to join him for a pint, acting as if they were friends despite having barely spoken to one another! Caleb obliged Mack when he demanded to be left alone.
The local nurse Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson), who was concerned that she had missed the signs of Reuben’s illness, paid a visit to Chloe at the hospital in the meantime. Reuben did not have a brain bleed, but Chloe was terrified that Reuben might still pass away.
Mack listened as Chloe’s sister Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) spoke about how upsetting it was to see Reuben so defenseless back at the bar. Mack exploded once more when Liam Fox’s character Dan Spencer made a pitiful attempt to add that the hospital’s machinery was at least keeping the baby alive. While Mack kept picking on Dan, Charity noticed that he was drinking a lot.
Mack reacted to Dan telling him to stop talking by punching him in the face and storming out, leaving Charity in a state of shock in his wake. Is she nearing the truth now?
