ITV ‘confirms’ Coronation Street’s Gail Platt for Love Island

-

As the upcoming season of Love Island approaches, one Coronation Street viewer has emphasised how ideal Gail Platt (Helen Worth) would be for the programme given her numerous, numerous, numerous failed relationships. ITV appears to have confirmed they have correctly predicted one of the bombshell arrivals!

The summer installment is quickly approaching, which means it’s time for a new group of singletons to get to work.

The 10th series of the yearly hit dating programme resumes on Monday June 5 at 9pm, with contestants being announced beginning today (May 29).

In the well-known reality programme, a group of men and women take part in a number of challenges with a partner in the hopes that they won’t get dumped and will instead find true love by the end.

This has us and many other soap opera fans debating who would be the perfect candidate to move into the villa, and, to be quite honest, Gail Platt is at the top of the list.

Gail Platt will be moving into the Love Island villa in less than two weeks, according to the ‘Just Random Thoughts’ Twitter account, which posted a photo of her in front of the Love Island sign. She has been married six times, and four of her husbands have passed away. She sincerely hopes she will eventually meet “the one”.

In less than two weeks, Gail Platt will check into the Love Island Villa. With six weddings under her belt and four dead husbands, she sincerely hopes to find “the one” soon.

There have been a tonne of responses to the tweet, including one from the ITV account, which stated: “We can confirm this is legit!”

The short answer to whether Gail would actually be perfect for the programme is yes, but let’s look at her history of partnerships first.

Gail married Martin Platt in 1991, Richard Hillman in 2002, Joe McIntyre in 2010, Michael Rodwell in 2015, and Brian Tilsley twice (1979 and 1988).

Gail, who is currently single, would undoubtedly have a lot to discuss with the other competitors around the campfire regarding Richard, Joe, Michael, and Brian, the four former partners who passed away.

Gail would also horrify the singletons with tales of how Richard had pushed her, David (Jack P. Shepherd), and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) into a canal, how Joe had passed away after an insurance job gone awry, and how she had fallen in love with Michael after he had burglarized her home.

How charming.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Gail will not be entering the villa.
