What happened to Ryan Malloy on EastEnders? Why did he leave?

-

Since Lily Slater’s pregnancy was revealed, Ryan Malloy has been discussed frequently in EastEnders, but what has become of him?

When it was revealed that Ryan Malloy (played by Neil McDermott) was Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) half-brother, he made his television debut in EastEnders in 2009. His mother abandoned the family when he was a year old, leaving him with an aggressive alcoholic father who subsequently passed away. He started hunting for Whitney when he ran into his mother again, and when he did, he located her in Albert Square.

What happened to Ryan Malloy in EastEnders?

Ryan informed Whitney in 2011 that he would be leaving Walford for a short period of time to work in the North.

When he came back, he learned that Whitney had been sexually abused by Rob Grayson (Jody Latham), and he persuaded her to be tested for STIs, which she did.

He pursued Grayson because he couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened to his younger sister.

At Southend, the two got into a fight, and Ryan ended up pushing them both off the pier and into the water.

Ryan was ultimately sentenced to prison for his part in Rob’s accidental drowning death as a result of his conduct.

Ryan, though, wasn’t held for long before being freed for lack of proof.

Since his official departure in 2011, he has been in the BBC soap a few occasions, most recently in 2016.

It’s believed that Ryan is currently residing in Wakefield with his girlfriend Helen, a jail guard.

Ryan wed Janine Butcher on and off when he was in EastEnders (Charlie Brooks).

Of course, when he realized he was in love with Stacey Slater, their relationship soured (Lacey Turner).

Months after giving birth, she revealed that her baby Lily was actually his when they were sharing a bed.

Lily, 12, is now expecting, so Ryan will travel back to Walford to find out what has been happening.

Although the length of his involvement in the drama is not yet revealed, it will allegedly be a “brief stint”.

McDermott discussed his comeback in this way: “When I learned what the tale was, I was incredibly thrilled that the stars were in place and I was able to visit Ryan again and step foot on the Square.

It was wonderful to get up with so many old friends, work with Shona and Lacey once more, and get to know Lillia, who played Ryan’s daughter so beautifully.

When Ryan is at Albert Square, he will be dealing with a variety of issues.

Whitney, Ryan’s sister, is expecting a kid and is concerned for the wellbeing of the baby because she has omphalocele, a disorder that causes organs to develop outside of the body.

Zack Hudson (James Farrar), who discovered he was HIV positive and may have contributed to the baby’s illness, hasn’t exactly been there for her either.

So what will Whitney and Ryan do when they learn Zack’s diagnosis is accurate?
