Where is EastEnders’ Lynne Hobbs now? Inside Elaine Lordan’s life after BBC soap

-

Many Slater family members have come and gone over the years on EastEnders. Over twenty years ago, the family reappeared, and Lynne Hobbs was one of them. But where is actress Elaine Lordan today, having left in 2004?

Elaine Lordan’s character Lynne Slater, who would eventually take on the name Lynne Hobbs, and her sisters Kat (Jessie Wallace), Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth), niece Zoe (Michelle Ryan), father Charlie (Derek Martin), and grandmother Big Mo (Laila Morse) moved to Walford in 2000.

Following the demise of her marriage to Garry Hobbs (Ricky Groves) due to tragedy, Lynne was the first member of the well-known family to leave the Square.

After an accident in Walford cost the couple their unborn child, Lynne chose to end her relationship with Garry and leave the Square permanently.

Lynne has been mentioned a numerous occasions, despite the fact that she hasn’t made a comeback to the serial in the 19 years after she left.

The family learns that Lynne is blissfully engaged to someone else in 2007, and when Charlie passed away in January 2016, she attended his burial off-screen.

Where is Lynne Hobbs from EastEnders now?

During her tenure on the soap opera, Elaine became well-known, but she has never since played Lynne again.

A year after leaving EastEnders, Elaine returned to television when she signed up for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2005.

She sadly didn’t survive more than a day because of health problems that caused her to pass out twice in a 24-hour period.

She participated in Soapstar Superstar in 2007 and was the first contestant to be eliminated.

Sadly, she has experienced similar tragedy in her actual life as her soap opera alter ego.

Tragically, Elaine lost James two days after his first birthday in 2005.

Just nine months had passed since Bernie, Elaine’s mother, committed suicide.

Tragically, Elaine miscarried in 2007, and her father passed away from a degenerative illness a year later.

In an article published in 2018, the singer was seen enjoying a bottle of wine in the middle of the day while walking down the street. This raised concerns for her welfare.

However, more recent pictures of the actress have raised hopes that the 56-year-old is doing far better.

She was spotted in 2021 looking good and enjoying a jog with her husband, Peter Manuel.

Since Elaine and Peter met and fell in love although Peter was already married, their relationship wasn’t too far from a soap opera narrative.

After meeting on the EastEnders set, where Peter was a resource manager for the show, they started an affair, which led to her being fired from the show.

Fern Britton said to Elaine in a 2007 This Morning interview, “You found love on the set with someone who unfortunately is not free.”

“And I wasn’t at the time either, but now we’re very happy together,” Elaine said.

“You have to navigate the minefield of a challenging relationship while trying not to damage other people, but you’re going to.

You attempt to keep it a secret, but when the news gets out, the EastEnders sex scandal suddenly makes the main page.

In 2005, Elaine and Peter got married and are still together.

She left the spotlight in 2008 as a result of the string of disasters she experienced.

She last appeared on television in 2007 during her time on Soapstar Superstar, and she hasn’t returned since.

Even while it appears unlikely that Elaine will ever play the frank Lynne again, there is still a chance that the EastEnders character might return with a new cast.

With Kat, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) still residing in Walford, many of the Slaters have come and gone from the Square.
