Where is Emmerdale’s Debbie Dingle actress now and could Charley Webb return?

-

Before leaving the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, actress Charley Webb played Debbie Dingle for 19 years. But where is she right now, and could she come back?

Since the beginning of Emmerdale, the Dingle family has played a significant role, with Zak Dingle (played by Steve Halliwell) at the head of the family.

Sam (James Hooton), Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) all have Zak as their father.

In addition, he is the uncle of Marlon (Mark Charnock), Chas (Lucy Pargeter), and Mandy (Lisa Riley).

His great-granddaughter is Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), and his grandchildren include Debbie (Charley Webb), Nate (Jurrell Carter), Samson (Sam Hall), Kyle (Huey Quinn), and Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir).

Through his cousin, Charity’s father, Obadiah (Paul Copley), Zak is also related to Noah (Jack Downham), Moses (Arthur Cockroft), and Charity (Emma Atkins).

Debbie was born as a result of an affair Charity had with her cousin Cain.

Before she made the decision to leave the ITV soap opera, Charley Webb played Debbie for 19 years.

The actress is wed to Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe, and they have three kids together.

Fans of the ITV soap continue to hold out hope that Charley will return, and David is still a mainstay.

On Emmerdale, Debbie, who relocated to Scotland, is frequently mentioned.

Most recently, in an effort to hide the father of her unborn child, Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) moved in with Debbie.

She and Sarah, however, soon went back to the village where she gave birth.

Although it is unknown if Charley will ever return to the soap opera, at the beginning of the year, she did share a mysterious Instagram post.

She wrote: “This is always my most asked question but I’ve never answered it before because I’ve never wanted to make a big deal out of it. Over the top of a photo of her, her husband, and their three children.

“Two years ago, I left to have Ace. For ten weeks at the end of last year, I returned to Emmerdale to finish a storyline.

“So, I guess officially a year has passed. We didn’t because I never felt the need to make an announcement.

Many of Charley’s former co-stars, including Sammy Winward, who portrayed Katie Sugden on the ITV soap opera, are still in contact with her.

Charley included a photo of herself and her on-screen mother, Charity, in another one of her social media posts.

“I will always love my old work family,” she wrote.

“I’m so happy and grateful that they entered my life all those years ago. They will endure forever.

Since leaving Emmerdale, Charley has been occupied with raising her three children, but she just recently started working again.

After leaving the Dales, she confirmed that she was filming two new projects.

The former soap star posted a happy mirror selfie and wrote: “Today is my new job’s costume fitting. I can’t wait to get back on screen and for my upcoming two projects that I’ll be filming over the summer.
